Our Pack
Compassion. Dedication. Expertise.
We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to expand our team over the past couple of years. We went from being entirely volunteer based to now having a paid team which has drastically increased the impact of our rescue and doubled the amount of dogs we're able to save every year. Meet the pack that keeps our little rescue afloat!

Kayla Mayes
Kayla started with Big Paws as a foster and quickly discovered her passion for animal rescue. With a background as a clinical social worker, Kayla brings a wealth of non-profit knowledge to our rescue as well as a passion for big floof balls. Her friends jokingly refer to her as the "social worker for dogs" and we think she truly is. From managing our intakes to our foster program and website- you'll see Kayla pop up just about anywhere at Big Paws with the goal to improve the lives of all the dogs she comes into contact with.

Office Manager

Bobbles (Bob)
Bob (short for Bobbles) is our wobbly little office mascot! Miss Bob has cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurological condition that affects her coordination and balance. We adopted her from Fayetteville Animal Services, and she’s been keeping the Big Paws team smiling ever since. She LOVES dogs, fears nothing, and proudly serves as our adorably weird little co-worker.
Office Manager's Assistant

Broseph
Broseph is Bob's bestie/sidekick/assistant/annoying little brother! Broseph also has cerebellar hypoplasia. He may not be quite as wobbly as Bob, but he has a tendency to tip over.. We were originally fostering Broseph, but once he and Bob became best buddies, there was no way we could let him leave! Now he happily assists Bob with her daily office duties and keeps her company throughout the day.
