Thank you for your interest in adopting from Big Paws of the Ozarks! We are thrilled you are interested in saving a life. If you are interested in adopting one of our adoptable dogs, or if you would like to be placed on a waiting list for adoption, please fill out our adoption application

Our adoption fee is $150 for dogs/puppies. This fee will help to offset the cost to bring the dog to safety, the vet exams, vaccinations, deworming, flea and tick treatment, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, spay or neuter, microchip, any other necessary medications for the pet. Collecting these fees is what allows us to continue to save more animals!

Please keep in mind that this fee, in most cases, is far less than the amount each adoptable pet has cost us. If you are able, or willing, we welcome you to make a larger donation.

Our adoption fee includes your new pets:

  • Veterinarian visit for an overall exam/check-up

  • Spay/Neuter surgery

  • Rabies vaccination

  • Flea and tick preventative

  • Microchip

  • Heartworm Test

    • Negative test- the dog is placed on heartworm preventative.

    • Positive test- the dog begins heartworm treatment

Potential adopters fill out a pre-adoption application by filling out our application application. The application will be reviewed and necessary phone calls will be made before the application is approved. We try to match the pet to the right family for them.

After the application is reviewed and if the family seems like a good match, a meeting is then set either in the foster home or at a nearby pet-friendly location. After the initial meet and greet, please email the rescue and let us know how it went, and if you feel the potential adopters would be a good match with your foster pup. The next step in the adoption process is the home visit. The dog stays in their new home at this time for a trial period.

We hope that your home is the perfect fit and the last stop on the dog's journey to Happily FURever After. BPOZ will do all we can to help you and your dog make the transition easier.

If the adoption is a success, we always welcome and love updates on our BPOZ alumni dogs.
