Thomas started his evolution as a dog trainer in 2015 when he found his best friend and canine companion Jackson as a little garage puppy. He fell in love with training Jackson, and sought out a place to work with more dogs. For the next 5 years he worked full time in an animal shelter in Southeast Missouri, helping them achieve No-Kill status by focusing on dog enrichment and making better connections with adopters.
In 2020 he moved to Wyoming to work on an animal sanctuary rehabilitating dogs rescued from testing laboratories. Spending his off time running through the Rocky Mountains with Jackson, his understanding of dogs with behavior issues grew along with an appreciation for the freedom gained from a well trained dog and a healthy bond.
In 2021 he moved to NWA to work for Best Friends Animal Society, traveling throughout the state to meet and work alongside many of the shelters in Arkansas.
At the end of 2023 Thomas started working at Hounds’ Hideaway, leading packs of 20-30 dogs in daily play groups. And in 2025 he also joined the team at Lowell Animal Shelter to dive back into NWA’s rescue efforts.
He is now with Big Paws and is looking forward to getting to know you, your dogs, and helping you both better enjoy this life together!
